File2File.app sets no advertising cookies and no cookies of its own. The only cookies are the Google Analytics visitor statistics cookies, and in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland they are set only if you allow them. The site also keeps a few items in your browser’s storage, listed below.
Google Analytics cookies
“_ga”: tells visits from the same browser apart, so that visitors are not counted twice. Kept for up to 2 years.
“_ga_X93FJ8XC0B”: keeps the state of your current visit for this site’s statistics. Kept for up to 2 years.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland these cookies are set only after you choose Allow in the visitor statistics banner. You can change your answer at any time with Privacy choices at the bottom of every page; choosing Decline deletes them.
Local storage
“theme”: your light or dark theme choice.
“file2file-style”: the style you picked in the Style menu.
“file2file_locale”: the language you last chose.
“file2file_recent_tools”: the last few tools you used, shown on the home page.
“ecosystem-analytics-consent”: your answer to the visitor statistics question (Allow or Decline), so the banner is not shown on every page.
Keys starting with “code-rain-game”: your best Code Rain scores, your current run and your sound and guide settings, if you play the game.
IndexedDB
“file2file-handoff”: files you drop on the home page, held for up to two minutes until the tool you pick opens them, then deleted.
“keyval-store”: the language data of the text-recognition tool, kept so that it is not downloaded again.
Advertising cookies
File2File.app shows no ads yet and loads no advertising scripts, so no advertising cookies are set. If ads are added later, this policy will be updated first, and visitors in regions where the law requires it will be asked for their consent before any advertising cookies are used.
Your files
Your files are never written to cookies, and they are never sent to this site, to Google or to anyone else.
How to remove it
Clear this site’s data and cookies in your browser settings to remove everything at once. The tools work the same without it; only your settings, recent tools and game scores are reset.
