PDF to PNG Converter
Save each page of a PDF as a lossless PNG image, sharp enough for text, tables and diagrams. Pages are rendered at 150 dpi, and a PDF with several pages gives you a ZIP with one PNG per page.

Format Overview & Applications
PNG is the usual choice when a PDF page has to become an image without blurring its text: documentation screenshots, diagrams for a wiki or a slide, a page of a contract to annotate in an image editor, or a chart to reuse on a web page. The image shows the page exactly as a PDF reader draws it, but it is only a picture: the text can no longer be selected or searched, and links and form fields stop working. Keep the PDF if you still need those.
Technical Specifications & Codec Breakdown
The PDF is opened with pdf.js, the same rendering library Firefox uses for PDFs, and each page is drawn on a white canvas at 150 dpi (150 pixels per inch of page size). An A4 page becomes 1240×1754 pixels and a US Letter page 1275×1650 pixels. Each canvas is saved as a PNG, which stores every pixel without loss.
OS & Browser Compatibility
PNG files open on most phones, computers, and web browsers, and image editors, wikis, slide tools and websites accept them. A PDF needs a PDF reader, which many of these tools cannot embed as an image.
Useful info
PNG files of photo-heavy or scanned pages can be several times larger than JPG; use PDF to JPG for those and keep PNG for text, tables and line drawings.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I get from a PDF with several pages?
A ZIP file with one PNG per page, named after the PDF with the page number (for example report-page-01.png). A one-page PDF gives a single PNG.
Is the background transparent?
No. Pages are drawn on a white background, as they look in a PDF reader.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
No. Remove the password in a PDF reader first, then convert the unlocked copy.
