Technical Specifications & Codec Breakdown

EML vs. MSG: The Open Standard vs. Outlook

EML is the RFC 822 open standard used by Apple Mail, Thunderbird, and webmail clients. Microsoft Outlook uses proprietary binary MSG files. Converting MSG to EML unlocks emails so they can be viewed on any platform without Microsoft Office.

Extracting Attachments & Preserving Headers

Email files store sender IP addresses, SPF/DKIM verification signatures, and Base64-encoded attachments. Converting EML to PDF creates a permanent, legally auditable copy with all header timestamps and inline images intact.
